Swedish developer, Quickspin, has over the years established and solidified its standing as one of the best online slot developers. Their impressive portfolio includes titles such as Hot Sync, Phoenix Sun, and The Wild Chase, all of which become huge sensations on their own. And now, their latest release, Spinions Beach Party is the talk of the interwebs, and looking at the slot, it is easy to see why. So, what exactly makes Spinions Beach Party a talking point, and is it truly viable (financially)? Read on to find out.
5 Reels, 25 paylines
Quickspin could have chosen to do something different with this game but for whatever reason didn’t. Spinions Beach Party unsurprisingly has the standard 5-Reels with 25 paylines which means that despite the great features, the slot still fits comfortably in the ‘others’ category. Otherwise, the 25 paylines (and 5 Reels) effectively increase the possible wins for every player, which is always a good thing.
The Spinions are here!
Remember the yellow Minions from the Despicable Me franchise? That’s who the game is all about, only that they’re now known as Spinions to fit the gambling context. Wait, you don’t recall ever watching the movie or hearing such a name? Well, you’re not alone at that, but that doesn’t change the fact that the minions and Spinions are amazing and more so when they’re in a gang. Probably, someone at Quickspin HQs watched the film and liked the idea, and voila, a slot was created. In a nutshell, Spinions Beach Party is about, well, a gang of Spinions having fun in a tropical beach setting. In the background, the 5 Reels of the game make an appearance, along with the other symbols, which often bring about good news. So yeah, Quickspin just created an alternative world in which you can win a couple of bucks just from taking part in a little, yellow blobs beach party. Amazing, right?

Bonus features
The game has several bonuses but the Beach Club Free spins one of the features that stick out more. The feature is activated when the three specified Bonus Club symbols appear simultaneously on reels 1st, 3rd, and 5th. Up to 10 free spins are activated on each round whenever the feature is unlocked. The good thing about this feature is that during the free spins round, the Opinion Wilds are sticky and remain so throughout, which means more chances of winning big. The downside, however, is that the Bonus Club Free Spins can only be activated once per game, unlike in most slots where the free spins can be triggered two or more times.
The Symbols
With the slot being based on some little dudes beach party, it was only right that the symbols fit the context. And Quickspin didn’t disappoint on this one. Spinions Beach Party includes symbols like pineapples, coconuts, oranges, and watermelons – all of them synonymous with fun and parties. Notably, the game’s most important symbol is a bottle of champagne dipped in ice, a beach party staple.
There is also the standard scatter and wild symbols which represent and/or trigger different features. The symbol to look out for is the Spinion Wild, which launches the Respin feature if two or more wilds appear. The Wilds then become sticky during the Respin feature which typically increases your potential stake. The good thing about this feature is that, unlike the free spins feature, it can be re-triggered several times as long as the wilds keep showing up at the reels.
Graphics, effects, and gameplay
Spinions Beach Party is one of those games that you either love or hate. There’s no middle ground. Granted, the slot contains some corny graphics and a bland storyline which is very different from the Despicable Me movie. That might turn some people off and it’s all good. However, the real gamers will take time to appreciate the great work that went into putting the game together and most importantly, the many opportunities the slot offers. Quite frankly, Spinions Beach Party has impressive free spins and Re-spins features which, coupled with the 5 Reels and 25 paylines, make it a worthwhile investment. So yeah, you might fault the idea behind the slot, or the storyline, or whatever, but one thing you can’t argue with is the massive opportunities it presents.
